ก็คือ is formed from ก็ and คือ. คือ expresses identity or definition, while ก็ links the statement back to an established topic. It also frequently introduces the central point in patterns such as ปัญหาก็คือ... (“the problem is...”) and เหตุผลก็คือ... (“the reason is...”). It can also follow a whole statement and introduce a restatement or interpretation.
