LICENSES & ATTRIBUTION
Copyright, references, and licenses
Manao is not a bulk import or republication of freely reusable dictionary datasets. Identifying the licenses of external sources does not mean that the Manao dictionary as a whole may be freely reused under those licenses.
Manao content and copyright
Native Thai and Japanese editors work on entries one by one, taking time to consider meanings, sense divisions, definitions, explanations, examples, and pronunciation. They research, rewrite, add, remove, review, and approve content before it is published.
Rights in Manao's original writing, translations, explanations, examples, editorial selection and arrangement, recordings, and other original content belong to the operator or their respective rights holders (All Rights Reserved).
How we use external references
During editorial work, we may consult LEXiTRON, English Wiktionary, and other sources to check meanings and usage, reduce omissions, and compare multiple references.
However, we do not treat any one source as the sole authority, nor do we mechanically or unconditionally copy external data. The editorial team decides what to publish based on real usage, native Thai judgment, and clarity for learners.
LEXiTRON
As one of several editorial references, we may consult LEXiTRON 2.0, published by the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC). Manao does not bulk republish the LEXiTRON dataset, and this use does not indicate that NECTEC or NSTDA endorses or recommends Manao.
The following acknowledgment is displayed in accordance with the LEXiTRON license terms.
Copyright (c) 2003 National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC). All rights reserved.
This product is created by the adaptation of LEXiTRON developed by NECTEC (http://www.nectec.or.th/).
This is the acknowledgment prescribed by the LEXiTRON license. It does not mean that Manao's entries are mechanically generated from LEXiTRON or that the LEXiTRON dictionary dataset is republished as-is.
English Wiktionary
We may consult Thai entries in the community-edited English Wiktionary when researching meanings, senses, parts of speech, and usage. We do not mechanically or unconditionally copy its content. Publication decisions follow comparison with other references and real examples, followed by review and editing by a native Thai editor.
English Wiktionary text is generally dual-licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). If we reproduce or adapt copyrightable expression rather than consult facts, we follow the applicable license terms. When relying on CC BY-SA 4.0, this includes attribution to English Wiktionary contributors, a link to the source entry, an indication of changes, and licensing the relevant material under the same license.
